As a south indian who prepares rasam every day, I would just like to point out that cloves, cinnamon, ginger, onion are never used in rasam. The main masala would be dhaniya, jeera pepper,chan a dal and Hong, roasted and ground to powder, added to tamarind, tomato water, and cooked toor dal added later. I felt like sharing this with you
