Navratri is a festival of 9 days. Many people fast for all 9 days and eat only vegetarian food without onion and garlic. But there are many other recipes that you can try at home and eat during your fasting days. You don't really have to compromise with your health and taste. Today i am sharing with you some more recipes for Navratri fasting days.

Fried Potato for Navratri Vrat
Eat fried potatoes in any fast. You will definitely like it. If you can find small sized potatoes then fry without cutting them. If the size of the potatoes are big or medium then cut each into 4 to 6 pieces. Come lets fry potatoes for your fasting days.
Boil 6-7 potatoes of medium size in a cooker, coll then down and peel.
Heat oil in a pan and fry boiled potatoes in it till they turn brown. Once the potatoes are fried take them out on a plate.
Leave 1 table spoon oil in the pan and take out the rest. Tamper the cumin seeds into it and then put potatoes, salt and 1/2 tea spoon black pepper into it. Roast the potatoes for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the flame and mix coriander leaves and 1 lemon into it. Fried Potatoes are ready.
If you do not like too much oil in your food. Then eat then without frying. Heat 1 table spoon oil in a pan and tamper the cumin seeds into it. Now add potatoes, salt, black pepper and roast the potatoes for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the flame and mix mix coriander leaves and 1 lemon into it. Fried Potatoes are ready.
Kuttu Atta Dosa for Navratri Vrat - Kuttu Atta Cheela
You can make various kind of recipes with kuttu atta. Today we will make Kuttu Atta Cheela.
Sieve 100 gms (1/2 cup) kuttu atta in a bowl. Boil 100 gms arbi in a cooker, peel and grate them. Mash the arbi and mix it well with the flour. Pour little little water into the flour and start making the batter. Make sure that the lumps are not formed.
Do not make the batter too thin or thick. Cover the batter and leave for 15 minutes to set.
Mix 1 tea spoon salt, 1/2 tea spoon black pepper and 1 table spoon chopped coriander leaves into the batter. Mix the ingredients well with the batter.
Heat pan (tawa) and pour 1 table spoon batter on it. Spread the batter evenly on the pan and roast the cheela by pouring little oil over it. Once the lower surface turns brown in colour flip the side of the cheela and roast it until it turns brown. Your Cheela is ready. Put it over a bowl kept on the plate. Prepare all the cheela in the same manner.
Kuttu Cheela is ready. Serve it with fried potatoes and curd.
Fruit Raita for Navratri Vrat
You can also make Fruit Raita and eat during your fasting days. It tastes good and also energizes your senses. Fruit Raita makes the food appealing and helps in digestion.
Fruits
- Banana - 1 (cut into round places)
- Apple - 1 (peel and cut into small pieces)
- Grapes - 40-50 (separate the stems)
- Melon - 1 cup (cut into small pieces)
Whisk 400 gms. (2 cup) curd with 100 gms. milk cream and 2-3 table spoon sugar.
Mix all the chopped fruits into the curd. Peel and grind 2 cardamom and mix into the raita. Keep the raita into the fridge to chill.
Fruit Raita is ready. Serve the chilled raita along with kuttu cheela and fried potatoes.
You can add any fruits as per your taste and preference into the raita.
