Today we are going to make special wheat flour malai modak for Bappa. It is very easy to make and they are very tasty to eat. Ganpati Bappa also likes the taste of these modaks very much. These Modaks made of malai and wheat flour will make your heart happy. So with this easy method, you can also make Malai Modaks of wheat flour and enjoy their taste with your family.
Ingredients for Modak
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Wheat Flour - 1 cup (150 grams)
Semolina - 2 tbsp
Almond Flakes - 2 tbsp
Cashews - 2 tbsp, chopped
Pistachio Flakes - 2 tbsp
Desiccated Coconut - 2 tbsp
Poppy Seeds - 1 tsp
Fresh Malai - 1/2 cup
Raisins - 2 tbsp, chopped
Cardamom - 5-6, coarsely crushed
Powdered Sugar - 1 cup (150 g)
Milk - 1 tbsp
Process of making Wheat Flour Malai Modak
Melt 1/2 cup of ghee (save 2 tbsp) in the pan. Then add 1 cup of wheat flour to it and roast it on medium flame while stirring continuously. Also, add 2 tbsp of semolina and roast it while stirring continuously.
When light colour changes and a nice aroma comes, add 2 tbsp of almond flakes, 2 tbsp of finely chopped cashews and 2 tbsp of pistachio flakes. Fry them for 2 minutes while stirring continuously with the flour. After 2 minutes, add 2 tbsp of coconut powder and 1 tsp of poppy seeds to it.
Mix them well and roast for 1-2 minutes. Then reduce the flame to low and put 1/2 cup of cream in it. Roast it while stirring continuously till the ghee separates. After the ghee separates, turn off the flame and keep stirring it for some time, then take it out in a bowl and cool it.
When the mixture cools down, add 2 tbsp of chopped raisins, 5-6 coarsely crushed cardamom and 1 cup of sugar powder. Mix them well. The mixture will become dry, melt 2 tbsp of ghee and mix it. If it looks dry, then add 1 tbsp of milk little by little and mix it well.
When mixed, put some ghee in the mould of the modak and close it. Now put the mixture in it and assemble the modak. Assemble all the modaks in the same way and keep them in a plate. In this way wheat flour malai modak will be ready. Serve them and enjoy their taste.
Suggestions
Roast the flour on low-medium flame.
If the mixture is dry, then add some milk to it.
You can keep them in the fridge and eat them for 10-12 days.
