Having something good and healthy for breakfast is good for health. So today we will make breakfast with arbi leaves. They are known by different names in many places. It is very easy to make and they are ready in a jiffy. Their taste is very amazing, so much so that you will like to eat it everyday. So with this easy recipe, you can also make breakfast made of arbi leaves and enjoy the taste of it with your family.
Ingredients for Arbi Patra - alu vadi
Arbi Leaves - 4-5 leaves
Gram Flour - 2 cups (250 grams)
Green Chilli Ginger Paste - 2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Red Chilli - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1.5 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 3/4 tsp
Carom Seeds - 3/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Dry Mango Powder - 1 tsp
Lemon - 1
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Process of preparing Arbi Leaves
Wash and dry 4-5 arbi leaves thoroughly. Now cut off their thick sticks and remove them, cut off the thick sticks that are in the middle of the leaves. Then roll these leaves upside down and make them thin. Prepare all the leaves in this way.
Process of preparing Gram Flour solution
In a bowl, add 2 cups of gram flour little by little water and stir until the lumps are gone. When the lumps are over, add water little by little to make a thin batter.
Then add 2 tsp of green chilli ginger paste, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of red chilli, 1.5 tsp of coriander powder, 3/4 tsp of turmeric, 3/4 tsp of carom seeds (crushed), 1 pinch of asafoetida, 1 tsp of dry mango powder and juice of 1 lemon. Mix them well, in this way gram flour batter will be ready.
Process of assembling the Rolls
Spread a big leaf on the board and spread a thin layer of gram flour mixture on it. Then put another leaf on it and spread a thin layer of gram flour solution on it. Now if there is any part left single on the lower leaf, then spread a leaf on that part and apply the solution.
Now fold them from side to side and spread the batter. Then twist one end slightly, spread some batter and roll it. Then roll it, by slightly turning the other end, spread some batter on it and roll it completely. Assemble the second roll in the same way.
Process of steaming the Rolls
Pour water into the pan, cover it and boil it. When it boils, grease a sieve with oil and keep it. Keep the rolls on the sieve by keeping the joint side down, so that it does not open while steaming. Then cover it and steam it on medium-high flame for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes the rolls will be completely steamed and ready. Take them out and let them cool down. After the rolls cool down, cut them into half inch thick pieces.
Process of frying the Patod pieces
Put 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and heat it. Put 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds in hot oil and fry them lightly. Then put some pieces in it and fry it for 1-2 minutes on low-medium flame. After frying for 2 minutes, flip them and fry them from the other side till they become light brown and take them out. Fry the rest in the same way. In this way, Patod will be ready, serve them with green chutney and enjoy their taste.
Suggestions
Steam cook the roll for 20 minutes.
While frying, keep in mind that they are not to be fried too much, be sure to check by turning them in 2 minutes.
