Pedas are sweets made in every season, in every festival. There are many varieties of Pedas too and each of them is very easy to make. Today we are going to make Besan Pedas which will be made in a very easy way and you will like to make them every few days.
Ingredients for Besan Peda Recipe
Ghee - ¼ cup (60 grams)
Chickpea Flour - 1 cup (120 grams)
Condensed Milk - 1 cup (250 ml)
Sugar Powder - ½ cup (75 g)
Almond Flakes - 1 tbsp
Process of making dough for Peda
Put ¼ cup of ghee in a pan and melt it. Then add 1 cup of gram flour (filtered so that the lumps are eliminated) and fry it well. Remember that the flame should remain medium. Fry it while stirring continuously till it becomes slightly oily. If the gram flour seems dry then you can add a little more ghee.
After the gram flour is roasted, reduce the flame to low and add 1 cup of condensed milk and fry till it becomes a dough, stirring continuously. After the dough is made, take it out in a bowl and let it cool.
Process of making Peda
When the dough cools down completely, add ½ cup of boora or sugar powder and mix it well. After mixing, take out a little dough with a spoon, make it round and press it lightly from the middle, then press a little almond flakes on it. Similarly make all the pedas and the besan pedas will be ready.
Suggestions
If you are adding milk powder instead of condensed milk, then mix ¾ cup of milk powder in ½ cup of milk and make a smooth batter and put it in gram flour in the same way as you are adding condensed milk.
If you are adding milk powder, then add ½ cup more sugar powder.
If the dough becomes too hard, then add 1-2 tbsp of pre-boiled and cooled milk and knead it well.
After making the pedas, keep them for 2-3 hours to set.
The pedas can be eaten by keeping outside for 15 days and by keeping in the fridge for 1 month.
