Today we are going to make Saag Muthia for breakfast in this cold weather. These are a traditional flavored muthia, they are very easy to make. In this winter season, eating saag muthia on a holiday is fun in itself. Saag is very beneficial for health, by having its breakfast in this cold, you will give taste to your mouth and strength to your body. So with this easy recipe, you must make this breakfast and enjoy its taste with your family.
Ingredients for Saag Muthia
Spinach - ½ Cup
Bathua - ½ Cup
Fenugreek Leaves - ½ Cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Green Chilli - 2, finely chopped
Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
Wheat Flour - 1 Cup (150 grams)
Gram Flour - ½ Cup (75 grams)
Salt - Less than 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Red Chilli - ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Carom Seeds - ½ tsp
Sesame Seeds - 1 tsp
Curd - ½ Cup
Coriander Leaves - 2-3 tbsp
Baking Soda - ¼ tsp
Tadka
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds -½ tsp
Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
Sesame Seeds - 1 tbsp
Process of making Dough
Wash and dry the spinach, fenugreek and bathua well and chop them finely. Then take ½ cup of spinach, ½ cup of fenugreek and ½ cup of bathua. Now put 1 tbsp of oil in the pan and heat it. Add ½ tsp of cumin and 1 pinch of asafoetida in hot oil and fry it lightly. Then add 2 finely chopped green chilies and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger and fry it lightly.
After frying, add spinach, fenugreek and bathua to it and cook them for two minutes while stirring continuously. After the time is up, let them cool down.
Now in a bowl take 1 cup (150 grams) of wheat flour, ½ cup (75 grams) of gram flour, a little less than 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of coriander powder, ½ tsp of red chilli, ¼ tsp of turmeric, ½ tsp of carom seeds (crushed on the palm), 1 tsp of sesame seeds, ½ cup of curd, cooked greens, 2-3 tbsp of green coriander and ¼ tsp of baking soda.
Now knead the dough by mixing them. After binding them, take some oil on hand and knead it again. Although water is not required, if the dough seems a little dry, then add 1-2 teaspoons of water and knead it. In this way the dough will be ready.
Process of Steaming Muthia
Heat water in the pan, then take a sieve which can be kept on this pan and cover it completely. Grease the sieve with oil, then after applying some oil on your hand, break a little dough and place it on the sieve giving it an oval shape. Keep as many as you can and keep them at a distance.
When the water comes to a boil, keep the sieve on the pan, then cover it and let it cook for 15 minutes. When the time is up, they will be ready, take them out and let them cool down. When they cool down, cut into ½-¾ cm thickness, cut them in the same way. In this way muthia will be ready, serve them with chutney and tomato sauce.
Process of frying Muthia
Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan. Put ½ tsp of mustard seeds in hot oil and let them crackle. Reduce the flame down, then add ½ tsp of cumin seeds and 1 tbsp of sesame seeds and fry them lightly.
After roasting, keep as many pieces of muthia in it as can come, cook it for 1 minute. After the time is up, turn them over and cook from the other side for 1 minute. They will be roasted, take them out and put some oil in the same pan and roast the rest in the same way. Muthias are roasted, serve them with chutney and tomato sauce and enjoy the taste with your family.
Suggestions
Knead the dough neither too soft nor too hard.
Steam cook it on low-medium flame for 15 minutes.
