Soya chaap roll is a favorite roll of children, not only children but adults also like this delicious roll. Today we will make Soya Chaap Roll in the street food style of Delhi. It is so easy to make that if you make it once, you will want to make it again and again.
Ingredients for Soya Chaap Roll
For Dough
Wheat Flour - 1 cup (150 grams)
Refined Flour - 1 cup (120 grams)
Salt - ½ tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
For Stuffing
Oil - 2 tbsp
Soya Chaap Sticks - 4 (250 grams)
Cumin Seeds - ¼ tsp
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Tomato - 2
Green Chilli - 1
Ginger - ½ inch
Kashmiri Red Chilli - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - ¼ tsp
Dry Fenugreek Leaves - 1 tsp
Capsicum - 1, chopped
Cream - ¼ cup
Coriander Leaves - 1-2 tsp
Tomato Sauce - 1-2 tsp
Mayonnaise - 1-2 tsp
Green Chutney - 1-2 tsp
Process of making dough
In a bowl add 1 cup of wheat flour, 1 cup of all purpose flour, ½ tsp of salt and 2 tsp of oil and mix them. After mixing, add water little by little and knead it to make a soft dough. After kneading, cover the dough and keep it for 20 minutes.
Process of frying Soya Chaap
Cut 4 soya chaap sticks into small pieces and keep them on a plate. Put some oil in a pan and heat it, to shallow fry the soya chaap. Put these chopped soya chaap in medium hot oil on medium flame and cook it till it becomes light golden brown from all sides. Soya chaap will be ready after frying.
Process of making Gravy
Take out oil from the same pan and heat it by adding 2 tablespoons of oil. Put ¼ tsp of cumin, ¼ tsp of turmeric and 1 tsp of coriander powder in hot oil and stir them. Then add a paste of 2 tomatoes, 1 green chili and ½ inch of ginger and fry it till oil separates from it. When lightly roasted, add 1 tsp of kashmiri red chilli, ¼ tsp of garam masala and 1 tsp of dry fenugreek (crush them and put them in) and mix it well.
When the masala is almost roasted, put 1 capsicum in it, cut into small thin pieces. After the spices are roasted well, add ¼ cup of cream and fry till it comes to a boil, stirring continuously. Gravy will be ready.
Process of making Soya Chaap sabzi for stuffing
When the gravy starts boiling, add fried soya chaap and a little more than ½ tsp of salt and mix it well. Now add 2-3 tbsp of water and cover it and let it cook for 5 minutes. When the time is up, the chaap will have dissolved well in the gravy, now cook it while stirring for a while till the gravy dries up. When the gravy dries up, add 1-2 tsp of green coriander and take it out after stirring it. Soya chaap gravy will be ready for stuffing.
Process of making Paratha
Mash the dough by taking a little oil on your hand, now break a ball and press it into a round shape. Wrap it in flour and roll it into a width of 3-4 inches. Now put some oil on it and lift it from all sides and close it. Wrap it again in the dry flour and roll it long and thin.
Heat the pan, pour some oil on it, then put the rolled paratha on it. Now apply light oil on both the sides and cook till brown spots appear. After roasting, roast the rest by rolling it in the same way, the parathas will be ready.
Process of assembling Roll
To make rolls for kids, apply tomato sauce on a paratha, then put some mayonnaise on it. Now put 3 pieces of soya chaap on it, then apply some mayonnaise on it. Roll the parantha after adding some green coriander and wrap it in foil, soya chaap kathi roll will be ready for children.
To make rolls for elders, apply green chutney on a paratha, then apply some mayonnaise on it. Now put mayonnaise and green coriander after putting soya chaap pieces on it. Roll this paratha and wrap it in foil, soya chaap kathi roll will be ready for elders.
Suggestions
The parathas have to be made a bit big for the rolls.
To make soya chaap gravy, it is necessary to fry soya chaap.
Cook the vegetable till it becomes dry.
