Sweet Sevai | Sweet Sevai without milk

Sweet Sevai is a traditional recipe of sweet which is easier and more efficient to make. It is a recipe which is most preferred during the festival of Rakshabandhan. 

Ingredients for Sevai without milk

• Vermicelli - 1 cup (100 grams)
• Green cardamom - 4
• Sugar - ½ cup (100 grams)
• Ghee - 2 tbsp 
• Almonds - 8 to 10
• Cashews - 8 to 10

How to make Sevai without milk

Preheat a pan and melt 2 tablespoons of clarified butter in it. Add a cup of vermicelli to the clarified butter and roast while continuously stirring it until golden brown on medium flame. 

Add chopped cashews, almonds to it and roast them on low flame. After roasting these, switch off the flame. Preheat a pan, add 2.25 cups of water in it and heat it.

Add a 1/2 cup of sugar to it and cook until sugar dissolves in it. Add a cup of vermicelli to the sugar syrup and cook it on low to medium flame for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, stir it and add seeds of cardamoms to it. 

Partially open the lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame. Later on, stir and cook without covering for 2 minutes. Switch off the flame and cover the sweet vermicelli. After 5 minutes, pour it in a bowl and serve it. Sweet vermicelli without milk is ready to be served.

Suggestion

You can increase or decrease the quantity of sugar according to your taste.
