Sattu is a dish which is a perfect dish for summers. It is edible and drinkable at the same time.
Ingredients for varieties of Sattu
- Chickpeas - 2 cups
- Barley porridge - 1 cup
- Wheat Porridge - 1 cup
- Sugar powder - 1/2 cup
- Black salt - 1/2 tsp
- Lemon - 2 to 3
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Green chilli (finely chopped) - 1
- Mint leaves
How to make varieties of Sattu
Chickpea Sattu and its drinks
Take 2 cups of roasted chickpea and peel it. After peeling it, lift some chickpeas and mash them. After mashing them, bounce them on a plate to separate the peels. After separating their peels, add them in a grinder jar and grind them finely. After grinding them, filter them and the chickpea Sattu is ready.
To make its edible Sattu, take a 1/2 cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it for dissolving its lumps. After dissolving its lumps, add 2 teaspoons of sugar powder to it. Stir to mix it well and after mixing it well, the edible Sattu is ready to be served.
To make its sweet syrup, take a 1/2 cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it. Dissolve its lumps and add 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar powder to it. Add a pinch of black salt to it and a lime juice of a half lemon. Add 1.5 cups of water to it and mix well. The sweet syrup of chickpea Sattu is ready to be served.
To make its spicy syrup, take a 1/2 cup of chickpea Sattu and add some water to it. Mix the Sattu well and add a 1/4 teaspoon of salt, a 1/4 teaspoon of black salt, a 1/4 teaspoon of cumin powder, a finely chopped green chilli to it. Add a 1/2 lemon juice, a 1.5 cups water to it and mix well. Add some broken mint leaves to it and it is ready to be served.
Barley Sattu
Take a cup of barley, roast them and roast while continuously stirring it on medium flame until its colour changes. After roasting barley, there is a soothing fragrance form it. The barley porridge has roasted. After roasting the barley, add it in a grinder jar and grind it finely. After grinding it, filter its fibre and the barley Sattu is ready.
To make barley Sattu sweet syrup, take a 1/2 cup of barley Sattu and add 2 teaspoons of sugar to it. Add a pinch of salt, lime juice of 1/2 a lemon to it and mix well. The sweet syrup of barley Sattu is ready to be served. To make salty or spicy Sattu syrup of barley, prepare it likewise according to the salty syrup of chickpea Sattu.
Wheat Sattu
Take a cup of roasted wheat porridge, add in a grinder jar and grind it finely. Filter its fibres using a strainer and the wheat Sattu is ready. To make it's wheat Sattu sweet syrup, take a 1/2 cup of wheat Sattu and add 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar powder to it.
Extract the juice of 1/2 a lemon and add a pinch of black salt to it. Add some water to it and mix well. The sweet syrup of wheat Sattu is ready to serve. To make its salty syrup, prepare its likewise according to salty syrup of chickpea Sattu.
You can store ground Sattu in an airtight container and consume for 2 months. You can serve it after adding some ice cubes too.
Suggestions
You can use whole chickpeas, wheat and barley.
You can add green chilli in the salty Sattu syrup.
You can increase or decrease the quantity of salt and sugar according to your taste.
