Rice kheer is often prepared by everyone but if you are running out of time and also looking for authentic kheer taste then try making paneer kheer. It is as tasty as rice kheer.

Ingredients for Paneer Payasam recipe
- Paneer – 250 grams
- Sugar – 100 grams (1.5 cup)
- Green cardamom powder - ½ tsp
- Cashews – 6 to 7
- Full cream milk - ½ litre
- Pistachios – 2 to 3
How to make Paneer Kheer
Take milk in a vessel and place it on flame for simmering. Meanwhile grate the paneer.
When the milk starts simmering, reduce the flame and let it simmer for 6 to 7 more minutes until it gets thick in consistency. Then mix the grated paneer to the milk and mix well.
After adding milk, constantly stir until it starts simmering again. Now reduce the flame and let it simmer on medium flame until it gets thick in consistency. Keep stirring the kheer at every 2 to 3 minutes. Meanwhile cut the cashews.
When the kheer thickens add sugar to it, followed by cashew and cardamom powder. MIx everything really well and mix. Now let the kheer cook for a minute or so until the sugar dissolves completely. Kheer is ready, turn off the flame and transfer it to a bowl.
Paneer kheer is ready. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve chilled or steaming hot. This kheer is also known as chena kheer. This kheer can be stored in refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.

- You can adjust the quantity of sugar as per your taste.
