Ingredients for Rice Flour Poori
- Rice flour – 1 cup (170 grams)
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – less than ½ tsp or to taste
- Fennel powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Oil – for frying pooris
How to make Chawal Atta Puri
Slightly warm the water for kneading rice flour. Take flour in a big bowl, add coriander powder, fennel powder, salt and cumin powder and mix well. Add water little by little and knead the dough. Also add 1 tsp oil and salt as well and knead soft dough. Cover and keep the dough aside for 20 to 25 minutes to set.
Heat some oil in a wok for frying the pooris. Make small lumps from the dough. Cover these dough balls, so that they don’t dry up. Take one dough ball, grease your hands with some oil and roll giving them a round shape. Place this dough ball over a polythene sheet and press gently with your hands to flatten it. With help of a rolling pin, roll out slightly thick poori. Now place the rolled poori in the hot oil for frying.
Toss and fry until it gets golden brown in color from both sides. Take out the fried poori in a plate. Likewise fry all pooris. With this much quantity of dough, 8 to 10 pooris can be prepared. Tempting rice flour pooris are ready.
Serve piping hot with dal, chana masala or any other sabzi as per your taste and relish eating.
