Stuffed Paneer Capsicum Recipe - Paneer Stuffed Simla Mirch

Capsicum is often prepared along with many other veggies but it’s combination with paneer is the best. You cab serve this capsicum stuffed with desi spices and paneer and cooked on flame with steaming hot roti, chapatti or serve them as snack. You will like it with both the ways. If you are making this for some special occasion, then use the yellow, red and green capsicum for making this sabzi.

Ingredients for Paneer Stuffed Simla Mirch

  • Capsicum - 4 (400 grams)
  • Paneer – 250 grams
  • Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Green coriander – 2 to 3 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1 pinch
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste – ½ tsp
  • Green chilly – 2 finely chopped
  • Red chilly powder – ¼ tsp
  • Mango powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp or as per taste

How to make Stuffed Paneer Green Bell Peppers

Prepare the stuffing

For this, heat 2 tsp oil in a pan or wok. Add asafoetida and cumin seeds to the pan. After sauteing the cumin seeds, add green peas and mix well. Cover and let them cook for 1 to 2 minutes on low flame. Now add turmeric powder, ginger paste, finely chopped green chilly, coriander powder, crumbled paneer, red chilly powder, mango powder, ¾ tsp salt or to taste and green coriander. Mix everything really well.

Stuffing is now ready. Take it off from flame and let it cool down.

Prepare the capsicum for stuffing:

Rinse the capsicums thoroughly and let them dry completely. Now remove the stalk using the knife. Then scoop out the seeds from inside. Repeat the process with the rest as well.

Take one capsicum at a time and stuff it with the prepared paneer filling. Likewise stuff all the capsicums. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. When the oil is hot add ¼ tsp turmeric powder and ¼ tsp salt. Now place the stuffed capsicums in the pan and cover with a lid. After two minutes, flip the sides and cover them again. Check after 2 to 3 minutes and bring the side down where it’s not roasted. Roast the capsicums from every side until it gets little brown. Capsicum is roasted from all sides, it’s now ready.

Take out the stuffed capsicums in a serving bowl and garnish with some coriander sprigs. Tempting and delicious paneer stuffed capsicum is ready. Serve with steaming hot paranthas, naan, chapatti or rice and relish eating.

Suggestions:

  • Cook the peas on low flame while making the stuffing. When they get little soft and tender, mix all the ingredients and stuffing is ready.
  • Roast the paneer stuffed capsicums on low flame. If required, you can keep the flame medium.
